Purchasing Food Fair Tickets

The Food Fair Tickets will be sold at the Ticket Booths and can be purchased by CASH, CREDIT CARD and PayPay – 10 tickets = 1000 JPY Non refundable.

Tickets will be sold on campus on the day of the event at the Food Fair Ticket Stations located in the following areas:

  • South Gate Entrance
  • Central Lobby

Food Fair 2024

The objectives for Food Fair 2024 are to bring the Marist community together, warmly welcoming new families and teachers to MBIS. The event aims to build a strong sense of community spirit and enhance the family atmosphere, while continuing the cherished 40-year tradition of the Food Fair. Additionally, it serves as an opportunity to recruit new PTA members and offers alumni, including past students, teachers, and parents, a yearly occasion to reconnect with each other and the school.

Date:

The Marist Food Fair has traditionally been held in October as an Autumn Festival. In the 2024-2025 academic year, the event is scheduled for Saturday, 19 October.

Time:

The Marist Food Fair will run from 10.00am – 15.00pm.

Purpose

The Marist Brothers International School annual Food Fair is a major community highlight and event in the school’s calendar and is supported wholeheartedly by the Board, Academic Leadership, Administration, Faculty, Staff, Students, Parents, PTA, Alumni Association, and the wider community.

The Marist Food Fair aims to promote a ONE SCHOOL approach where all members of the Marist community come together to celebrate international mindedness, diversity, and common values. The Food Fair is also a time when we welcome members of our local community in Kobe to learn more about a Marist Education, support and strengthen local and multinational businesses and organizations, and reconnect with our alumni and past families.

Food Fair Raffle

¥300 Per Ticket

The Food Fair Raffle will be managed by the PTA and supported by the school. Raffle tickets will be on sale at Ticket Booths for 300 JPY per ticket. Raffle tickets can be purchased directly at the Ticket Booths by CASH, CREDIT CARD and PayPay. Raffle tickets sold by student groups roaming the Food Fair can only be purchased using the Food Fair tickets (no cash will be accepted for Raffle tickets from roaming sales).

The raffle draw will take place at 14:20pm at the Gym Stage.

No tickets will be sold after 14.20pm on Saturday, 19 October.

Contingency

The Marist Food Fair will only be cancelled if the city issues a Keiho. We will be monitoring the weather forecast and will notify the school community at 6.30am on the day of the event via direct email and updates on the website about any decision to move entertainment booths indoors due to rain or thunderstorms.

The Marist Food Fair comprises several components which make up the entire Marist Food Fair Experience. The main components include:

  • Entertainment Booths
  • Main Stage

The success of the Marist Food Fair will largely dependent on our ability to keep everyone safe and healthy. Food safety guidelines must always be followed.

A bicycle parking area will be designated on the north side of the West Building. There will be NO BICYCLE PARKING near the South Gate.
We educate students in a nurturing community where relationships and meaningful connections are valued and celebrated. Our students gain knowledge, communicate effectively, develop exceptional character, and become responsible citizens of a global society. We inquire into the world around us through rigorous academic programmes that aim to prepare students for life’s opportunities.

The Marist Food Fair is an event for the entire community and an opportunity for our students to participate as well as learn about the challenges and successes of running components of the event, running a small enterprise, or providing service to the community.

Montessori & Kindergarten – Our youngest students are able to participate in the event with their parents and are welcome to attend between 10:00am – 15:00 pm. Students should be supervised by their parents / guardians at all times.

Lower School – Our lower school students are able to participate in the event with their parents and are welcome to attend between 10.00am – 15.00pm. Students should be supervised by their parents / guardians at all times. Some lower school students may be invited to volunteer to support a booth. In such cases, the teacher in charge of the booth (Booth Leader) will provide information to parents prior to the event.

Upper School – Upper school students are involved in many aspects of the Marist Food Fair. The various student organizations run booths and support with the setting up and packing down of the event. Upper school students may be released from the last period of the Friday before the event to set up their booths. Students participate in the event on the Saturday and although their parents are invited to attend, upper school students can attend the event without supervision.

Alcoholic beverages will be served at the Marist Food Fair pending official authorization from local authorities. It is the school’s responsibility to ensure that alcohol is not served by people under the age of 20. It is also the school’s responsibility to ensure that alcohol is not consumed by people under the age of 20 or to people who are intoxicated.

The Elementary School bathrooms can be accessed from the field. The First Floor bathrooms near the stairwell and the Grade 1 classrooms are designated for adults and wheelchair access
The Montessori and Kindergarten bathrooms are designated for families with small children (1 adult toilet and 5 toilets for children)

There are single sex bathrooms in the two stairwells of the gym.
